As you approach Wren's Nest it is easy to imagine from its petite size and shape that it had its beginnings in 1830 as a Chicken Coop for the Rev. William Jackson Farm. Some of the glass is original and we are told that as recently as 1930 the building had a dirt floor. After the Barrows Family bought the farm in 1900, Wren's Nest was used as a tack house (harness shop) for their livery business until 1926 when the horses were sold. About 1930, Wren's Nest was given a proper foundation and floor and Barrows House Chef was housed there during the late Spring, Summer and early Fall months.
