Vermont Wedding Venue

Entering the town of Dorset is like driving into the quintessential historic Vermont town. Maintaining the character and ambiance of a bygone era, our neighborhood features all white clapboard buildings with dark shutters, cozy inns, general stores, marble quarry, green mountains, quaint professional theater and a marble church anchoring the village green. Looking around, you might think you have stepped back into a more romantic time. Located on six manicured acres, Barrows House offers a truly memorable wedding venue for your Vermont wedding with a large outdoor terrace and colorful perennial gardens. Just a block away, the historic Dorset Inn offers a charming backdrop for smaller, more intimate weddings, rehearsals, showers, brunches, barbecues and retreats.

The Old Gray Barn, just north of Dorset Village Green, is our newest venue for weddings and special events.  Tucked into a hillside overlooking the pristine meadows of the Mettowee Valley, the setting exudes that ideal Vermont rustic charm. The 2-story barn features exposed rough-hewn beams and rustic light fixtures, a viewing balcony prefect for cocktail hours and after dinner lounging, a bride’s room, large sliding barn doors that open to a wood deck and various lawn spaces ideal for extending the celebration outdoors.  The picture-perfect backdrop ensures that you can transform The Old Gray Barn into the wedding day you’ve always dreamed.

Located in Southern Vermont, Dorset is ideally situated near the larger towns of Manchester and Bennington and close to the borders of eastern New York State and northern Massachusetts. Albany, NY airport and Albany Amtrak are 1 1/2 hours away. Hartford, CT airport is a 2 1/2 hour drive south and Burlington, VT airport is a 2 1/2 hour drive north.
