The Dorset Inn

One Charming Vermont Village and Two Historic Inns

Barrows House & The Dorset Inn

Entering the town of Dorset is like driving into the quintessential historic Vermont town. Maintaining the character and ambiance of a bygone era, our neighborhood features all white clapboard buildings with dark shutters, cozy inns, general stores, marble quarry, green mountains, quaint professional theatre and a marble church anchoring the village green. Looking around, you might think you have stepped back into a more romantic time.

Located on six manicured acres, Barrows House offers a truly memorable destination for your wedding or special event. The outdoor terrace offers the ideal setting for all functions. With colorful perennial gardens and beautiful views, it is as if you are at your own mini resort. Just a block away, the historic Dorset Inn offers a charming backdrop for smaller, more intimate weddings, rehearsal dinners, showers, brunches, barbeques, retreats.

Located in Southern Vermont, Dorset is ideally situated near the larger towns of Manchester and Bennington and close to the borders of eastern New York State and northern Massachusetts. Albany, NY airport and Albany Amtrak are 1 1/2 hours away. Hartford, CT airport is a 2 1/2 hour drive south and Burlington, VT airport is a 2 1/2 hour drive north.
